Take a trip down the rabbit hole and don’t forget to pack your appetite. Roseneath Street is the location for an unassuming eatery that morphs into a culinary wonderland for those fortunate enough to cross its threshold. The restaurant is perhaps best known for its pastries, made from scratch in the on-site bakery. From flaky, buttery pastries to soft scones and moist muffins, The Rabbit Hole’s bakers are masters of their craft. But it’s not all about sweet treats and indulgent baked goods: dinner is the main event, and it’s well worth waiting for. Dishes like pan seared salmon, braised chicken cassoulet, and homemade potato gnocci are beautifully presented, with bold flavours complemented by grilled root vegetables and oven-dried cherry tomatoes. The salads are adventurous and full of intriguing pairings, including a panzanella salad, made with sourdough croutons, mixed greens, horse carrots, brussels sprouts, bacon and parmesan. There’s also a delicious steak salad and a creamy lentil soup that goes down a treat. After polishing off the last morsels of a memorable meal, you should have just enough space left for an espresso or a dram of fine malt whisky. What delights will you encounter when you visit The Rabbit Hole?
